Sea World

Last weekend I went to my first amusement park . . . Sea World Australia. Mom and Dad said I was in rare terrible two-year-old form, but I was just so overwhelmed and overstimulated by everything I couldn't help myself! We spent alot of time at Sesame Street Beach and I got to ride alot of rides that were just my size. We also rode a GIGANTIC ferris wheel. This ferris wheel has been the Sea World "icon" (you can see it out on the beach horizon) for as long as we've been in Australia, but this week they are taking it down because their lease on it is up. So, I'm glad I got to ride it before it came down! We also got to see lots of dolphins, sharks, starfish, fish, polar bears, pelicans, seals, and more. It was a long day but I loved it!

I also went to a new park last week in Ipswich, Queens Park. We went with our friends, The Wilson's. There was alot of new playground equipment to explore and they even had a walk through nature center where we could see kangaroos, lots of different birds, and some baby farm animals. Another fun and HOT day!

School holidays are now over . . Yeah!! Things can go back to normal around here. I will be going to Kiah School two mornings a week, will have playgroup on Thursdays and am going to start visiting The Beats Bus on Friday mornings. I love instruments and music and if you ask me I'll list all of my favorite instruments for you . . . saxophone, drums, flute, piano, etc. The Beats Bus will be a whole hour filled with music, dancing and instruments - I can't wait!!

I Graduated!!

I'm still in the Baby Bears class at swim lessons but my teacher said I spend so much time under the water now that I get to wear goggles . . . or "gaggles" as I call them! I have also been practicing with my gaggles in the bath tub. I had swimming lessons everyday for a week last week so I improved on alot of my skills.

I had another busy "Evan" weekend last weekend too. On Saturday we went to Rocks Riverside Park, right by our house, because they turned on the water play park. Because of the drought there hadn't been any water since we arrived in Brisbane but since it has rained so much lately they decided to turn the water on for a few days each week. The pools are just my size and lots of fun . . . and it's only minutes away from our house!

On Sunday we went into downtown Brisbane to the Queen Street Mall stage and I got to see a Dora the Explorer performance. Mom put alot of Dora pictures in my slideshow because we knew that my friends at Kimmy's House in Moline would think it was cool that I got to meet Dora AND Boots. There was also a Dora treasure hunt maze that I got to climb through (several times) before the Dora show began. I had alot of fun!

We are still in school holiday time (summer) here in Australia so there isn't alot to do for us right now, especially when it rains and we can't go to the park, playgrounds, and pools. Kiah School starts again next week and playgroup will start up in another couple of weeks so I'm looking forward to things returning to normal!

My trip to the Railway Museum!

I had so much fun visiting Thomas & Friends at the Queensland Workshops Railway Museum in Ipswich. I ran from exhibit to exhibit and enjoyed every bit of it. It was raining outside so the visit to the museum was perfect for us! They even had this great toy room with about 15 different tables set up with tons of different Thomas trains and, of course, I had to sample every one of them. Here are some pictures from our trip. (Run your curser over the picture to see the captions!)
