So many fun things to share . . .

Hi Everyone!

This week was our typical week but I have so much to share! On Monday mom bought me this cool backpack. Everyone here has a backpack and I am always wanting to wear their backpack so mom decided I needed one of my own. She thought I had too much Bob the Builder stuff so she got me a Thomas the Train backpack. Look at me! I am so proud of my backpack and it's almost as big as me!! Mom said this might be the only backpack I get for the next ten years because it cost ALOT more than a normal backpack for a 2-year-old!! Hmmmmm . . .

On Friday dad came home from work with a surprise for me. He won the lottery! Well, according to my definition it was the lottery . . . he brought a cool John Deere pedal tractor home that he won in a raffle at work. I love it . . . even though I can't reach the pedals. We are still waiting for a few pieces so that dad can finish putting it all together for me but for now I sit on it anyway. I sure hope this BIG tractor can fit in one of our crates when we return to the US!!!

Then, this weekend we went to Underwater World at the Sunshine Coast. I was able to see lots of water animals AND the ocean . . . AND it was sunny outside! I really enjoyed the overhead aquarium (kind of like the one at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha) but at this one I was able to stand still and the floor moved (see my pictures) so I didn't have to concentrate on walking and watching . . . I could just watch!

Evan the Builder

Isn't as catchy as Bob the Builder . . . but I still love pretending to be like Bob. I got this cool toolbelt for my birthday and love to wear it around. It even plays the Bob the Builder theme song (with a British/Australian accent.) I know all the words to "Bob's song" and love to sing it.

Not much else here going on yet this week. Mom says that we'll try to post some pictures of my swimming lessons later this week. Last week was the EKKA state holiday here in Queensland so I didn't get to go to swimming lessons. I am getting better and better at swimming and am learning to jump into the pool and swim to mom. Yep, that means my head is going under the water. I don't LOVE to go under yet but I'm learning!

All Aboard!

Hi Everyone!
I haven't posted in awhile . . . I've been sick! I had a high fever and a cold at the same time (it's flu season here in AUS) and mom and dad THOUGHT I had the flu bug going around BUT they took me to the doctor and he said I had tonsillitis. So . . . I have to take medicine everyday for awhile - but I'm feeling better now! Since I was sick we had to hang around the house all week long - boy was it a long week (for mom and me!)

We have this really cool park near our house (Australia is full of cool parks) and so I have included a picture of me driving the boat at the park. (You can also see the soft, white sand they have here - this is what I called "snow" when I first saw it.) While driving this boat I would yell out "All Aboard!"

We went out for a long drive over the weekend and I got to check out some cool planes too. I love planes, trains, boats, taxis, and cycles and can spot them from miles away!!

I had my first playdate over to play today. Emma, a girl that just moved here from the UK came over to visit and play. I was very protective of my toys - who would think that a girl would want to play with my combines, tractors, and diggers! Anyways, I am slowly learning to share (but I don't really like it!)

Another day for a Birthday!

Here are my Friday, August 3rd, birthday pictures. I know August 3rd isn't my birthday but mom and dad planned a small party for me on August 3rd . . . and they said it was still August 2nd in the U.S. so we could continue to celebrate. I might like this kind of birthday - two days of celebrating!! We had some of our John Deere friends come over for my Thomas the Train party, a family from America and a family from here in Australia. I got a cool racetrack (from mom and dad), Bob the Builder things, and a stuffed koala bear. We played with all my toys and the 25 balloons that mom and dad blew up for me. It was alot of fun! I was excited to try my Thomas the Train cake and wanted to eat the biggest pieces I could!! I didn't get to bed until 10PM . . . it was another great day.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Here are my Thursday, August 2nd birthday pictures. I should have a few more tomorrow after I have my Thomas the Train party with some of our friends. I enjoyed my day today. I opened TONS of presents this morning (in mom and dad's bed) from everyone. I went to Thursday morning playgroup and everyone sang to me and I got to blow out my candles. Mom made a cookie pizza for everyone to share. We also had "ice boxes" at playgroup to celebrate. Yes, they call popsicles "ice boxes" for some reason here. Oh well, they still taste the same! Yum, yum, good!
